So I guess I have been on break (finally) from school and really, I haven't gone around the grid at all. I realized that I may not have enough time to be on SL so I downgraded my account to basic for the time being. I can't really keep with it as much as I used to. Too many things keep coming out, too many events, requirements, etc ...

Though my RL is kind of slow, I has it? I'm sort of enjoying that more. Work with the fucking Dark Knight (been sold out ever since its 72 hours straight run on opening weekend) can be stressful but it's part of RL ... The summer movie scene? I want me some of that. Teehee, Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder look neat. Lollapalooza with LollaLounge privileges? Nothing like avoiding 75,000+ people. Hangin' at the beach? I dig it.

I may come back to SL someday. I'll probably still hit it at least once a week still just to pay rent but for now, I see nothing in the long run. I seriously can't keep with it. It's like after a while with Animal Crossing, it just gets too much.

Finally, school is near the end! I have one more class only I finished everything so I'm free to slack already. I'm like broke phi broke (as usual) since summer school was too much. Y'know, working less in turn making less but spending more because of art supplies.

Seems that I'm pretty damned behind but I don't think I'll be catching up anytime soon. Eh, I have shitloads of crap anyways, I'll get by. Wing it with what I have for now ... Hopefully join up with Scar or something with the studio.

If not that, game elsewhere. I do in fact have a Wii and Harvest Moons come in August :D!

So I was doing my daily rounds of SL fashion blogs and stumbled upon the creations of katat0nik. It managed to make my outfit for today complete.

I absolutely loved all the gear I found at katat0nik. At this point, I had drained my funds on awesome things from GearShift (note the kickass jacket?) and skins ... I only had the money for a pair of boots but I absolutely love them! The texture is beautiful and something I haven't really seen before.

Speaking of skins, I finally got a chance to grab some Chai skins a few days ago since Miss Launa Fauna treated everyone to a short gift card sale. Though I didn't care for the way the darkest shade looked on my shape, I found the lighter shades oh so much cuter.

Oh man, then there was the fact the goddess of goth Helyanwe Vindaloo had some scattered releases just in a few weeks. I love doo-dads on hair ... Especially the multicoloured variety.

I start summer school on Tuesday and have two concerts this weekend. I've been lazing about but I'm glad I got to grab such neat things while bored on the grid. Check out these joints, just search for them ... and they will come ... ... (via search)... ... (I'm lazy to link/tp, sorry).

Something New

So when Sunrae Moonbeam posted the offer to preview the new skin range of PXL Creations' Linda line, I totally wanted to try it out. I'm new with this writing about fashion thing so bear with me while I attempt to do a skin review, har.

While I was sent all the ranges (from fair to dark), I was most interested in the dark (obviously).

The new line will have the following as its darkest shade, a fashion tan, sunkissed, light and as said, fair. I had previously encountered the skins while wandering the fashion feeds and thought the tan was great and the dark from this new line is as well ... Pretty much darker to my liking.

I love the overall tone and how my avie actually looks ok in it. She's a tricky shape to work with and the skin works well. Finally a new line with good work to the usually abandoned darks.

My only problem with the skins were some of the details.

It may just be my own preference but while I love how the makeup/face turned out, the body portion kinda weirds me out. For a realistic skin, it's pretty well on the dot but the lines are too much to my liking. Wrinkles make me scared slightly, har.

I hope to pickup the pack of darks once they come out this coming Monday. And if you were looking forward to the more common lighter shades, PXL does no wrong with those so check it. I don't have them pictured because hey, too excited by well done darks. Props, Hart Larsson.

Just FYI, my attempt at a shop is going down. The partner hasn't been on SL for ages and recently cancelled the credit card used to pay for it. So that's that.

School is almost done for the semester. I feel slightly behind just because I was at home sick a few days ago. Missed two classes.. one that helps a lot in getting things done, the other with a brand new huge project. I'm kind of scared of the idea that there's only three more weeks left. I mean, I'll be back in school a week later because I'm taking summer school but still. I worry.

In other news, how about those mountains of sales going on in the grid? I bought some L$ just because of it. First of all, I hear on the blogs of a Kyoot Army sale.

Thing is about Kyoot Army is that I've wanted that shit for the longest time ... Probably since all those things first got released and got blogged for weeks and weeks. Thing about the new trend of couture mixed with casual wear is that though it is SL, it costs more for couture. Granted, Kyoot didn't get as high as some other joints, it was sort of a lot for a student currently spending hundreds of dollars on just photo supplies. 100L$ help is all I'm saying.

I've always dug the dark side of Kyoot and how some things are high couture and some, not so much but can be if cleverly used. Me, I'm not that into the couture trend so I stuck with what I liked. I did pick up the higher up items but for now, they sit in my inventory.

Another nice thing was artilleri having a sale. I only realize now how adorable the skins there were. Like even the darkest shade! It was surprising.

The combination of lips and nose deets make my avie not too terrible looking. It's nice. I'm looking forward to Antie's next gen of skins. I was just happy to find darks that suited my shape, despite these are probably pretty old. You can't really beat 300L$ for a cute skin that works on a shape like mine.

I love sculptie coats. Whenever I see them, I want them! Only problem with that is they're kinda pricey because they're awesomeness so it's not like something I buy often. For example, I don't own any Muism gear at all except maybe that one freebie jacket given a couple days ago. Otherwise ... I don't have much.

I guess they sort of work the same way a really good basic in RL works. Usually, you buy the essentials despite the initial pricey-ness. The perfect trench or the best white blouse for your body ... I think sculptie gear probably work the same price. That's my justification for price anyways (well, y'know ... besides the extreme skill, har).

My outfit from today/yesterday (weird because I was barely on ...) features a Ce Cubic jacket I always find myself in.

I think the greatness about this jacket is that it's fully sculpted so I can layer more if wanted. Granted, not this outfit but sometimes, you want lots of layers. It was a trend for a while but it's something I've been liking. With SL, you can only do so much with layering. With something like a full on sculptie jacket, more options!

And now, for something completely different.

Lately, I've been somewhat detached from my avie's "ethnicity". It's like, I identify more with her in a darker tone but I've been finding myself more and more frustrated with newer skins that come out. The darker tones just don't work on miss avie as well as my past skins (which is why I tend to go back to them ... a lot, if you haven't noticed). So here she is, fair skinned ... Again. Not that it looks bad but ... Yeah.

Then I get this message offering up this Miss Ebony Contest and my lack of participation is due to my RL being too busy right now. It really ... Sucks, for lack of a better word. And further I think about it, it's like ... What would be new with my look if I tried? I would probably go back to Alina or Sin Skins. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough or I'm destined to become another fair skinned model but ... I just wish something new would come along that wasn't all focused on the fair.

It's more or less noticeable depending on what shade your skin is I suppose. I just want the new MMS skins in my tone but that'll take a while but that's ok, I need some getting used to Windlight.

I've been a sick cookie for the past few days and in turn, I haven't been able to get myself to do work that needs to be done. Instead, I decided to play dress up again.

Thing is, I had a photo shoot yesterday with the fab Scarlet and she had the cutest hairdo on. Long story short, I found out about a joint called Magika. AGAIN ... Probably been around for a while but it's oh so awesome so why not mention it?

Magika has a wide variety of hairdo's with such nice ties and alternative looks as well as a few conventional do's. The knots and textures are quite nice. If you ain't into hair, there's also a huge selection of fab accessories ... Not pictured sadly because I only got no copy, transfer versions ... I'm scared to tweak to fit when I cannot make a mistake. I'm in the process of getting copiable, no transfer versions. ~~It's something to check out either way.~~

(edit) Nevermind ... There is a 200L fee for each item you request a permission change. I had a couple paragraphs of an angry rant about it but I figure, that would have done nothing but make me appear as one of those asshole customers that think they're always right but most likely, wrong. It's just that I'm not good with prims, I don't want to mess up what I bought, and I don't have the same shape of the model pictured for these wears. An additional fee for checking boxes differently ... Ugh, I'll stop now before I start another paragraph of angry rants. (/edit)

But anyways ... The photo shoot was actually for Fancy Schmancy and I had forgotten the great items I had hiding in my inventory. Top it off with the very nicely textured wears from UnTone and Refuge, you got a nice casual look. Shorts even! Whee!

So I ended up starting school early but not really. Six hours in the darkroom but then realized I misplaced a contact sheet, ha. Back to actual junk tomorrow!

I totally did nothing productive but that's ok, a break is a break and I'm so thankful for it after the semester I've been having so far.

Anyways, on to SL business ... I've been sorta eh lately so I've been finding myself splurging on things. Granted, not too pricey things but yes, retail therapy without the sometimes crushing experience of trying on shit and having it fit improperly.

One example of not too pricey "splurges" is a new release at Bare Rose. Thing is about Bare Rose is I go in to grab one thing and end up buying a whole lot since after one buy I usually stumble on more super keen wares that are quite affordable! While today, I'm only decked out in items from one outfit, I totally ended up buying like ... five total.

My style varies. Too much influence from Japanese fashion art book ... THINGS probably but you got to admit, it's so much more fun.

When I saw the Vanessa outfit on the fashion feeds, I knew I had to have it. I'm a sucker for EGL things and Bare Rose usually knows what their doing when it comes to Japanese fashion. I don't think the pictures of the product does it justice; the details are so beautiful. In addition to Bare Rose updates, got around to going to that UnTone joint.

We went over this: I'm slow.

The organic flowery jewelry goes well with the organic flowery feel of the Vanessa tops. Behind it all, the softer "Care" make-up by the oh so talented Minnu Palen just sorta ties in that whole EGL theme. Weird cause I'm not usually found in lighter skin tones ... Just as of late. It's hard to explain why but for this case, it works for now me thinks.

So I was wandering through my SL blog reads and stumbled upon this entry. I was mostly amused by the cute hair but as it turns out, doesn't work too well on my avie and it wasn't moddable ... But that's ok, TEKUTEKU had many hairdos that amused me. One specific one I found adorable was one called Chiffon.

I've always been a fan of updos that involve asymmetry without being too dressy or slick. The black wasn't dark enough for me, but a little tint tweak did it.

It was funny though because while I was at TEKUTEKU, I saw this avie with the cutest neko gear. If I wrote down her name, I would totally tell you who she was (Sorry, miss!) but anyways, she dropped me a LM to a place called SkinPop!

I'm pretty sure SkinPop! has been around for a bit but what I'm terrible with is keeping myself up to date with more alternative primmy wear ... Especially new content creators and such (probably not too new, but you know what I mean). In terms of neko gear even, I haven't been to up with that since Anisa Naumova had movable neko parts.

I'm old school, yup ... Didn't even realize more mods were being done in that world.

What drew me to ask about said neko gear was the fact they had such nice details. While the neko gear had so many variations and individual loverliness, I ended up grabbing a couple other accessories.

I absolutely love lip piercings and SkinPop! totally has a wide variation of them along with any sort of keen dark neck wear you would need. I totally clicked to join the group ... It's a keen joint to visit sometime when you have that feeling to go a little dark or just feel a little neko-like.

I ain't of the culture or anything (obviously), I just dig the look. Don't kill me, normally neko childrens.

So there's this fancy thing called a colour wheel where all of the primary colours and all sorts of colours in between are put into a wheel. When they cross the wheel to their opposite side, you get a completely different colour that despite it being opposite to your first colour choice, looks pretty darned nice with it.

That's my understanding of that, har. I think there is in fact a class on colour theory at Columbia but I do need to take it ... So I'm not really good with that. I'm just paraphrasing from what I learned in grade school art class.

Anywhoos, I didn't really think much about it until looking at my snapshots afterwards that hey! They're opposites on the colour wheel (roughly)!

I guess it's hard to tell but I do have a tiny bit of oranges with my blues ... Browns sort of count as well. It's strange how things sort of fall in place like that. I just thought the combination looked cute.

I think I was just wandering the grid for some cute flats and stumbled back into Sand Shack Surf Co. I love the clothes in there but end up putting off the buying there cause it can get semi-steep sometimes. From those flats, I just built my outfit using various things like a soft wrinkly texture here, a patterned one there ... ... Comfy legwarmers. I heart legwarmers.

I just find it fun when you sort of do things you don't mean to when putting this sorta thing together.

So you know how I said on the official first day of spring, it snowed in the evening? It actually snowed for most of Friday. That with a combination of work and "Aunt Flo", I've just been kind of lazy but I tried to get jazzed up ... Sorta ... Not ... really.

I just felt like being comfy today.

While pumps are not traditionally comfy, orange has a warm fuzzy feeling that I'll pretend they are in fact comfy. To tell you the truth, I went through my inventory sort of stumped so I ended up just grabbing some old Halloween freebies lying around then some random other things that looked kinda nice with 'em.

Sh'up, I'm tired ... I work on weekends. I don't have much time to clover and/or egg hunt. Not many pastels for me. Cardigans are comfy ... Yeah ... That's it, har.

I think despite my best efforts today, Earthtones always have items that sort of bring an outfit together. Textures and shapes that Lucas Lameth come up with are nice staples in clothing whether you're sorta in a meh state like I am or needing the fanciness at a local shindig.

Wood makes me feel better, don't hate.

Bloomin' Snow

So yesterday or today was apparently the first day of Spring.

Being in a city like Chicago, this is no way obvious to me. While most of the week was pretty much gorgeous (Chicago gorgeous this time of year is around 43°F and up), it snowed last night. So really, we're in this weird place between winter and spring when it technically is spring.

Not complaining too much just because I'd rather be really cold then excessively hot.

Not even realizing this, I had decked me avie self out in a weird medium of clothing. Just the randomness of new clothes coming out I suppose.

I know this much about trends within SL ... Armidi is pretty much in in every category you can think of ... and that's ok! They had a recent release of various casual wear and basically, I'm all about casual wear. The thing with me shopping is I don't usually grab a fatpack and I'm through, I pick a colour and make it work for a while. Armidi is keen with that even with a colour like "electric blue".

At the same time, I've been having this strange attachment to Ce Cubic jackets and recently got around in getting this adorable hairdo found via Haver Cole's segment on the Second Style blog ... Yes, I am behind. A few tweaks here and there and some awesome accessories found lying around my inventory (even one slightly with the trends now! a patterned scarf :O), I got my weird medium between spring and winter.

Neutral colours help a lot in highlighting those bright random colours you get. I for one can't always afford fatpacks ... No need to fret about colour choices, woot.

So there are a lot of fashion blogs for SecondLife. I've always sort of been curious in trying fashion blogging but didn't really know how to. The thing is, in RL, I'm very not fashionable ... Ever, pretty much. It's mostly the combination of me being generally ungirly, having a strange body shape, and lacking of cash for all the good stuff. My laziness is possibly part of that, har.

Anyways, if you have not talked to me before, the reason I come to SecondLife is to vent my fashion desires. Even though I'm generally frumpy in my daily RL, I absolutely love fashion. I love looking through Vogue, fashion editorials in general and even the various FRUiTS books. I watch Top Model (go Claire or Lauren!) and if I had cable, I'd probably up in Project Runway.

It's somewhat like music. It's genred, varied, and each person has a preference in it ... Only like music, I like all sorts depending on my mood. There's no absolute fashion style that reigns king to me.

Though it can be debated, all that fashion is hard to attain in RL. For me, the issue is price and the discouraging process of trying shit on by various designers and not getting anything to fit right ... So here is my little avatar in SecondLife!

I'm somewhat scared to try fashion blogging simply because I fear I'll end up not knowing what the fuck I'm talking about. As read, I look, not so much take part in ... But like how I feel about music (I realize now, most art forms I dig), fashion is sort of I do what I like and I don't really care if it's trendy or ironic or cliched or anything. I know what I like, that explains it all.

I'm on spring break so I may take a stab at this fashion blogging business. It doesn't hurt to try I suppose ... Just be advised it may not be what is expected.

This is what Photography and Darkroom feels for me. As much as I love photography, the whole classical style of it just aggravates me. They expect so much from us right off the bat. For someone who has an up to 2 hour commute to class, it's not fun to be in a chemical ridden area for six or more hours when I shouldn't have to.

I think most of it is the fact six extra people are moving into my house tomorrow when the house isn't all that big. I don't know how it's going to work. I feel tonight is my last night of me having my own personal space. It's not something I can imagine for a long period of time considering I've been an only child for ... uh, 21 years. Ugh, not cool.

The sad thing about designing sites for the longest time is that I've lost track of a lot of my designs over the years so in terms of "Why the hell I hire you for my web design needs?", I'll probably be able to send bits and samples and that's about it.

I guess this could be one example: I've worked out most of the kinks of LUSH's upcoming blog. Did the set up on the blogging software I'm accustomed to as well as little things with formatting entries. Nothing much is there yet but here you go.

Hello people who read this! I have no idea who reads this but if you don't know this by now, I am a graphic designer. I've designed via the computer ever since getting a computer when I was 11. I've always been interested in web design and 10 years ago, it wasn't what it was now and I've grown a bit since then.

Anyways, I've finally settled on pricing for designing web sites. The thing is, web design is just sort of fun and a hobby for me. In high school, I did this shit for free for friends ... offered like crazy even and now, it was brought to my attention this is in fact a skill some may have, some may not but is searched for.

With LUSH Studio, I do the avie pics, I'll do ads if you ask me ... Logos, too but I really dig the web design. I can help you but it may not be cheap. Here is what I settled on ... granted, can be negotiated (more so as indicated):

Website or Blog (design only): SLL$10,000 to SLL$20,000
Website or Blog (with all coding and setup): SLL$30,000 to SLL$50,000

I guess that's all I'll divvy it up to. It's hard for me to charge so much for something I love to do but looking at some articles, you get what you pay for. I try my hardest at web design, I code my absolute best and it's checked and tested many times over. A lot of love is put into anything I do and granted, I love the opportunity to work but sometimes, you just need to be rewarded for the hard work. Doesn't happen much in the RL part-time minimum wage job.

Not much to report on this end. Posted a bunch of pictures from my RL going ons. Not good ones of course but they are there. I'm taking two photography classes this semester, hopefully that'll help substantially. I imagine it draining my funds since it's old style, darkroom business but oh wells. Another day at an expensive art school.

Did I ever mention I'm bad with extroverts? Shouldn't have really gone to that sold out Girl Talk show last night. Too much shit.

It ended up ok because me and the boy went to one of our favourite diners after. Nothing like 3am hot cocoa and chicken fingers.

I start school soon. Should be something I suppose.

So I come on the grid this morning hoping to grab some of the things I listed on my Last Call wish list only to find the entire Quad jam packed with people either trying to get there or to ETD. And I was going to list things I wanted from Wintermoon only I remembered ... In Canimal's sim. That is part of the Quad!

So I'm just sort of amusing myself making my avie pale and blonde.

Yes, you read correct ... I'm a dork and list everything I want prior to buying. Well, just now since there are so many sales going on. I just need to see how many L$ I need and such.

I guess I'll work on coding my RL blog's layout. I'm sharing web hosting with the S.O. since the current web host sucks ass nowadays so I decided a new layout would be good to have in honor of the switchy. Oh well, SL some other day.

I'm taking a stab at making a proper portfolio. I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm trying.

In other news, I've been finding myself rather pale lately in-world. It's kind of weird and upsetting. Granted, there are so many great new skins out but rarely ... The darker shade doesn't get much attention. It's there as an option but not much love is put into it. Maybe just me being whiney about how they don't look right on my avie.

I just sort of feel that the makeups are probably not tweaked to fit with the dark. Just sort of defaulted so at least you have the option ... May not look too right but it's the exact same makeup on a different shade! I'm not sure how to describe it. I think it's like ... The makeup options are created to fit the lighter, average shade more times than dark ... Maybe?

I do dig this skin from Nylon though ... I really do. I'm just weirded out by the fact I'm slowly turning away from the shade(s) I identify with.

So I'm out of class! No class until January 29. I got a couple books to read thank goodness and a whole lot of games to catch up on. I have the beaux and possible a possible friendship brewing. Should be some sort of break ... Lots of work but something.

Not much again on the grid. I took a quick stab at the local HCT contest. Pictures for those are posted. I feel dirty cause I had no idea what to do so I drew off of what miss Summer did. I hope she doesn't hate me.

I had a couple SL secret santas though one never got around to giving me gifts but oh well. I'm still sorta standing by on Vertigo and work. Doesn't come but I always hope.

Change Rocks

So it was a fun interesting event. There was a last minute addition called Macy Gray. Needless to say, her performing with The Changes was weird.

This is my only picture just cause, I'm a struggling broke college student who only had the cheapest seats available for the fundraiser. They were in the balcony and I guess my camera doesn't work well with distance. More pictures of the event found at Mr. Brandon's site. Online sorta buddy of mine who's pretty much awesome. Hopefully the beaux will have his pics up soon as well.

Two more days of classes and freedom is mine. I'm somewhat upset with my job because we didn't get a free prescreening of I Am Legend. I guess I'll watch it eventually.

Though I don't consider myself too into politics, my S.O. is. You know how things go when you're with someone for so long ... Well maybe just me. I don't know. I seem to absorb some of his interests like a sponge.

Anywhoos, Change Rocks is basically three of my favourite things in one place: two of my most cherished Chicago bands and Barack Obama. It should be an interesting event. I'm scared it'll be one of those events where they don't allow pictures but I think I'll try anyways.

I've been really tired and not on SL lately due to so much work at school. It died down for now but there's still a whole lot more before the semester ends. I dig being around but I'm bored. I'm just sort of waiting for the new Vertigo sim to be up ... or the moment I'll be able to wander it or request designs. I actually don't know the details much! I've never really been close to being part of a sim before. It's strange. I'm waiting for it.

But I think I'm just waiting to be needed. Kind of an angsty way to put it but yeah ... It'd be nice to do a new avie picture or portfolio or modeling gig. Maybe a website layout or something.

Random thought: it would be fantastic to have a well made Chicago sim(s) but then I'm a nerd about Chicago. I love this town and everyone else should too, har. Which reminds me ... Is there furniture on the grid that are similar to the styles of Mies van der Rohe or Frank Lloyd Wright?

It startled me most because I usually keep to myself in SL. It's just strange and I don't really know how to react to it.

Man, I haven't been in-world in ages. Just checking in ... I'm not dead! If it matters!

I got a Photosphere and I have yet to go batshit insane in it. Just took two pictures for the hell of it.

I actually haven't been in the mood to do much SL-wise ... RL-wise ... Anything-wise. Seems especially for SL because I seriously am finding myself not knowing why I come on. I don't really have any close ties with anyone and no one is requesting me for anything ... AND I'm broke so no shopping so ... What's the point, you know?

So I tried before with the on-spot photography with minimal editing but eh, didn't last TOO long. I'm trying again and it'll probably not last long either (you never know actually) but I like how they turned out so far.

I've been finding myself really really bored on SecondLife. I seriously don't have much to do when in world. I guess I have a workshop tomorrow but otherwise, not much! I haven't gotten requests for LUSH since Amanda ... Well, it's more like, people ask and they SAY they don't care who does the shoot but really want Scarlet and when they get stuck with me they're like, "Oh ... Nevermind." It's really quite depressing!

So not much going on with me in terms of SL. I've been busy with school and just recently, concerts so no new pictures besides kinda really dark snapshots from the shows I attended this weekend. Just two shows but still! Oh yes, I got that message that all photo pack rats on flickr fear ...

I finally decided to visit and take shots of this place I've heard of called Straylight. My experience there was absolutely amazing. It's by far one of the best natural sims I've seen.

Anywhoos, I did a few treatments to a couple snapshots I took. Oh yes, if you haven't noticed, I've been sending shots over to Snapzilla lately. Well, not too much but there are some pics from the SL Tropics Competition and me wandering Straylight some more. Granted, not all of them but eh, what are you going to do about SL emails failing ... Or whatever causes like a gazillion of my shots to disappear.

It's so strange that I find these random things in my inventory that I haven't used in ages. In this picture, this hairdo from Celestial Studios. It's like, why did I not wear this a lot? It's fucking gorgeous.

Oh yes, I'm still in love with the cateye makeup from Tête à Pied. It is strange to be using a different family and completely different makeup than usual.

So I don't have too much to worry about in SL this week. The Tropics took up most of the time I was able to get onto the grid but now that's over and I didn't win, more wandering for me!

I recently splurged (again) on skins but some from Tête à Pied. Oddly enough, the skins don't look that great on me (like most skins) but I found myself quite fond of these. My problem with them is that some makeup isn't fine tuned to the shade I usually get. Like lip or eye makeup being too subtle against the shade, y'know? Some skins keep in mind the paler tones' makeups and don't really consider the darker shades at all.

But I found I dug some of the skins that had one or the other incorporated really well. For example, the skin I used for this Photoshop treatment. Kinda neat, eh?

I'm trying again with the Second Life Foto.com contest cause I didn't think it would hurt. I'm not sure how to feel about it because as much as there are so many good ones on there, ones who probably surpass my abilities with photography and photo manipulation, I can't help but feel that as much as they discourage the unfair voting, it still runs rampant.

It's basically war among the people with dozens of friends and ones who just want to take a stab at winning some extra dough. Ever notice the number of votes with regard of rating?

It's a minor thing most likely. I'm probably bitter or something though I really shouldn't because I've never won anything in my life. I think I just want my abilities to be validated or something. It's strange.

I splurged on those loverly skins but I guess the real difference is the whole, on-site photography thing. Again, I'm doing some practicing so if you don't really fancy how they turned out, it's ok. But I must admit, it's really fun messing with things that weren't taken in a photobooth but also kinda difficult because it's the moment and the scenery and natural light and other things to be taken account.

Didn't realize how hard it was but the outcome is really neat. I'm surprised that it did because I took the pictures while on my craptop. Oh how I love high rez snapshots and having uber ginormous bmp files.

I did another picture for LUSH. It was my first time doing a picture that involved two people and no complimentary poseballs (well, GOOD ones). I sort of winged it using the individual poses I had. It was tricky simply because number of shots I got of one was not as many as the other. I dug how it turned out in the end. I don't know how to yoink Scar's poseballs but I think this works just as well.

In other news. I'm taking a stab at that foto contest. I was going to do a new picture but never got around doing it so I used an older picture. So I'm trying this thing called not Photoshopping the hell out of something. I'm just trying to broaden my photography skills; I feel a tad dependent on Photoshop sometimes.

I'm just working on it. I myself don't think I'm that great at Photoshop; things can always be better. I think my little theory at the moment is that my Photoshopped images are only as good as the pictures that make it up?

This is why I contemplate whether or not to buy a Photosphere. As much as those textured backdrops exist outside the world and can be just Photoshopped in with the help of a white original backdrop, there are things that don't have a quick fix like alpha hair or alpha prims. Also things like on site pictures worry me; I'm not that great at that.

I'm feeling the guilt a little just because all this tweaking of images make me think of how MySpace camwhores edit the hell out of their pictures (blemishes, bad whatever, etc). Is my avie really as pretty without the Photoshopping?

So I really dug these new fangled Minnu Model Skins with lip gloss. I don't have them but I was demoing and was sad that it worked on my avie. Not many skins work on her and it's ok because skins are pricey anyways but man, I don't like when that happens!

It's just that it's rare to find a good dark skin; something not too orange, not too dark and terrible, y'know? As much as it would probably be more fun to convert myself into something lighter, but nah. It's like how I feel like changing her shape for the fact she could be more versatile in various skins but I'm just so attached to how she is now. It's weird.

Like in RL, you can't instantly change things but you'd imagine you'd do it if you had the chance. SL, people change their style but when you identify with how your avie is at times, it's hard to switch just like that.

I'm trying to look for work but not finding any! I'll pester Miss Singer perhaps ... Or actually work on sketches of outfits. Who knows! I just know I have RL job tomorrow and then a four day weekend that includes the Asia Competition. Kinda scary because I haven't practiced in high lag or found poses that worked well with my decided outfit.

If anyone knows any superb pose places besides Reel Movement, please tell me. In addition to finding poses for the mock show, my AO is in need of a good updating.

I'm kind of really sad though because I had taken MANY snapshots and sent them over to Snapzilla but they all disappeared and I only have the one. I managed to be around the grid and on the island at night and right at SL sunrise. I really liked them ... Well, can't be too sure if I did because they aren't there. *sigh* I guess I'll shoot another email over to Cristiano.

My weekend is booked pretty much. If anyone ever has the chance to see Daft Punk live, you should probably do it. They probably run high but they are totally worth watching live. I may be partial to amazing lighting and gadgets though.

In other SL news, I took a stab at this Fashion Challenge thing via SecondStyle. Feel free to take a gander if you all have the time ... Possibly vote positively, har.

I have a Snapzilla! That's certainly something new!

Also I decided I really like web designing. I finished a layout for the LUSH blog and I want to do more (that's not up yet, by the way). Like, I got this header image and wanted to do the layout ... The only problem is I would even know where to start with charging for that. Apparently, professional web designers charge at the very least, for even just a blog that they aren't covering domain and space, $250. That's so insane to me! Like even charging $100 is a lot to me.

Thinking about it in L$ makes feel even weirder.

I think it's because I did this a lot a few years ago for friends and mostly for the fun of it. It's something I do for fun but it's a valuable skill that not many have ... I guess? That's how it's explained to me but I'm just sorta ... Buhhh?

I really like designing sites though! There are so many defaulted SL blogs I would love to makeover but apparently, it's worth a lot to do that. I feel a tad dirty for charging up to L$30,000 on something I do for fun. I was thinking more like L$1,000 and whatever in tips.

So I pulled out of the Face of Asia competition because I cannot make the mock show. Mostly RL. If you live in Chicago, you know what's going down the weekend of August 3rd. It was mostly my own ignorance in trying so hard in this competition and not even realizing the date I'm most required is a day I cannot appear. I wish I realized this sooner so I didn't have to waste the judges time. At least they were sweethearts about it.

It saddens me quite a bit just because I was hoping for another fun fashion related experience. With Scarlet, even! I even thought I had a good chance in winning.

The thing about the SL fashion industry is that I haven't been a huge part of it and I wish I was. I watch shows like Top Model and love the clothing and artistry that goes along with it. In RL, I stand at about four feet, ten inches ... Along with height, there would be no possible way I'd be part of that world. In RL, I'm not fashion savvy. I'm quite the frumpy girl. In SL, it's possible to be someone in the fashion biz ... Designer, model, etc ... but I haven't found my way in really.

I'm glad for all these opportunities that arise but it still hurts a bit every time I can't make it.

I recently decided to upload all my Photoshopped images to DeviantArt at one point but was told to try flickr since the SL community is more prominent there but then someone else told me about this story. Tricky stuff. I think I'll go with my original plan for now ... Eventually ... Maybe ... ANYWAYS ...

So Canimal's latest outfit (or at least part of it), reminded me of how Lupe Fiasco usually wears these bright patterned hoodies. It's not particularly exact but that'll explain the last picture! It's just lyrics from his song "Kick, Push". It's probably a trend within the hip-hop community in general but to me, he seems to be the only one who could pull it off.

Wtf

So I was wandering MySpace and stumbled upon a whole bunch of SL folks ... You know, their RL selfs. It weirded me out a little. MySpace in general weirds me out. I tend to use it to wander music. I'm more of a Facebook person in terms of social networking.

I'm not a very social person so it's not actually saying much. I'm a very awkward and shy individual, in SL and RL. I guess mostly in RL. I try sometimes with socializing in SL (and online in general) but I'm not very good at keeping at it. At first, I could possibly chatting up a storm but eventually it turns into one of those "Hi!--What's up?--Nothing" conversations.

There are some rare occasions in which that doesn't happen. I guess I'm pretty content with those. I hope when Lush is up and running again, it'll let me interact more with the SL art community. In the mean time, I'm ok with the occasional TP out of my sky isle and DJ gig (of a friend).

I love me some Celebrity, Frik and Zef.
I should probably go pick up a copy of SecondStyle when I have time.

So I had a photoshoot with Carl Crabe a few weeks ago and I kept meaning to blog the photos so I'll do that now. I love how they turned out! Never knew my avie could look so good in black and white! In other news, I just came back from a concert. It was the first time I saw the band outside of ritzy black outfits. They were very summer-ie dressed! Oddly enough, my avie was sporting all black even when they weren't. I was going to attempt a fashion review just now but realized I have no idea how to write one. Although I don't really think I am, a few individuals think I'm a good writer and figured reviewing stuff would be good but it's late, I'll just post a picture with details. I need more time to think about that sorta commentary ... For now, night everyone!

China Doll

Ok, summer school is starting on Monday and I'm working tomorrow so this will end my designing spree until summer school is off my list for the year. Basically, they're on SLX and SLB. The dress I decided to call China Doll and since no one wanted other colours, it's just on it's own.

The outfit with the top and capris is called Borja because my beaux said it reminded him of the Renaissance and I believe they were an influential family during that time. Kinda arbitrary but that's ok. Just a top on the jacket layer with plain black capris but coloured cuffs.

I'm sorry if the odd name of colours throw people off. All the other designers were doing it ... ?

Jesus, I actually finished something else in one day. So much in fact ... I didn't think I would have been able to.

This will be in other colours but I had yet to choose what they are! Basically, I was at work one day and saw a girl wear a similar top so I wanted to try making that top and have something that went with it.

It's a top and pair of plain grey capris with striped designed cuffs. For each colour I decide to do, I'll make cuffs. I'll hammer the colours later. I'm tired ... Those vertical stripes are a bitch.

Another day, another design. This will probably be a stand alone dress with no other versions. I basically got the idea from this.

One Hundred

I was going to update when I finished all my planned tops/outfits but I figured, whatever. This happens to be my one-hundredth post, by the way. Blogger hasn't exploded at me ... Yet.

Anyways, the first one is called Fancy Fuzz. Like I said, it includes the skirt. Comes in 5 colours. The second one is just called Long Buttoned Polka (y'see, I'm not good with naming shit). I decided to keep the colours to three. They're all found at SLX and SLB. I don't know if I'll have time to work on the store in-game but eh well ... It's nice to be making stuff again.

Although, I forgot how tedious wrinkling and shading is. Enjoy (or not)!

I finished another thing! Ended up different from my doodle again. I'm not sure if I'm gonna include a bottom with it but here's what it looks like.

I hammered out this and two other colours. I don't know what other colours really cause I'm so used to having like the standard rainbow. I want to change it up a little sometimes but eh, I'm not too creative.

So I always love Top Model but this season didn't excite me much. Well, maybe it did. It's probably just because I wasn't too excited with the final three. Nice to know the winner was from here, though ... Kinda bad at the same time just because a commercial for the local news basically told me she was going to win before the show ended.

No "wearing" cause I've been working on clothes. I actually have been only working on one thing for the past day and a half. I'm kinda slow with stuff. I had a doodle in my sketchbook but ended up changing and experimenting with things. I'm on to work on the next one but here is what I finished.

I actually finished it in other colours but I'm low on the L$ so I figure, I upload tomorrow or later. The skirt is going to be included. It's not too complex but I thought it was a nice compliment to the top. Have a wonderful night now!

I remember when I used to always have my avie be a red-head. It mostly started off with this old ETD hair-do. It was such a good one, I'm sad I forgot to buy a standard black pack of it before it got discontinued. It's such a great hair-do. I had my previous tattoos for about a year and a half and figured, I needed a makeover. So this is what I came up with ...

So the wings and thing on her thigh were there before. The wings are just thinner and rotated slightly. The three stars on her back used to be up on her right hip. I only added four more then tweaked the opacity.

That figure near her naval is a little hard to see but it's supposed to be a stencil of a rat by Banksy, the fireflies were spawned by Kurt Halsey Frederiksen and the number near her behind? Google it. It's kinda dorky but I dig it. I just wanted a tat on her to represent where I came from ... Though I don't know if it's really a Chicago only thing. I don't know, either way! Oh yeah, I also made little X's on her wrists. I thought it was a cool way to depict my general lifestyle.

I should really do something ... PRODUCTIVE.

I had another outfit done but realized it sucked. I wanted to work on it (among other ideas I had) during this spring break but I was just too damned busy with work, my mom's birthday, and other chores. I didn't even finish all of the things I set out to do during this spring break. Oy vay ... People, stop making 300 popular so I can have some peace at work!

Not much going on. I have a lot of plans drawn up but who knows if I'll carry them out!

All I know is that me and my partner got land finally so we're setting up my stuff there. The building is inspired by a Mies van der Rohe building so considering his saying was "Less is More", I had to revamp my ads another time. I couldn't do that entirely so basically, the ad was made by my partner (besides logos in the background, of course).

But I think it's gonna be specifically for the store in-game ... Well, until I feel like uploading ALL of the newer ones onto SLB and SLX.

Been caught up in real life and lazy every time I get a moment of peace. I was actually planning to do some Anti-Valentine's wear but then yeah ... You can't do much when you just don't feel like it.

It's most likely the winter bringing me down. It's too cold around here to do anything productive.

It took me forever to do but I finally have everything on my SLEx account.

I'm kind of bummed because the concert didn't work out yesterday since the band I went to see (or the band they were opening for) were more popular than I thought and the venue was packed. On top of that, there was a line of people wrapping around the building. So lame ... I guess I'll buy tickets next time I see Asobi Seksu or Appleseed Cast on the bill.

Instead, me and the S.O. went to watch Epic Movie. It was dumb but we figured, it was nice to know we knew 90% of the movies referenced. I never really know much about the Scary Movie series because I never watch horror films as they usually end up ... terrible.

We weren't actually expecting much out of it ... Some days, you just want to see something ridiculously dumb. I mean, in terms of movies, yes I want to watch all those dramas out right now but I'm getting a drama overload. Personally, I haven't seen a good comedy out since Little Miss Sunshine. Eh, maybe I'm missing something.

A new top today. It's like a double top only not really. I added a simple black tube top along with these tops. It's nothing really special; it looks good either way ... Well, at least I think so.

Always found at SLB ... The Fatpack is at SLEx as well ... Just not any of the other colours cause I still have to finish individually adding and uploading my other things. Um ... The Fatpack is 350L$. It's 90L$ for each colour.

I'm going to a concert tomorrow! YAY! It's been forever since I went to a concert. I'm such a weirdo because the majority of the concerts I go to are usually for the bands opening. I don't know! I like them!

Well, except when She Wants Revenge opened for OKGo. I didn't like them much and I wasn't the only one. It was the first time I've seen a band get booed. Interesting stuff!
